A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 16th October 2012 between the Embassy of India, Kathmandu and Malangwa Municipality in Sarlahi District for providing Indian grant assistance of NRs. 42.78 million for the construction of culverts and drainage for the Municipality under Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme.
Under the project, the Municipality would carry out the construction and maintenance of drains and culverts in different wards, which would bring about a qualitative improvement in the lives of the people.
In addition to this project, six other projects in Sarlahi District have already been completed with Indian assistance of NRs. 75.5 million. Further, work is ongoing in the District in respect of six other projects at a cost of NRs. 141.9 million. India has also gifted thirteen ambulances and one school bus in the District.
